Read the API guideBilling questions
What does the free plan include?
100 checks per UTC calendar month, with API and WordPress access. No credit card is required.
When do paid quotas reset?
Paid quotas follow your subscription billing period and reset on a confirmed renewal. Unused checks do not roll over.
What happens if I reach my quota?
Checks return HTTP 429 when your quota is exhausted. We do not automatically bill overage charges. Upgrade your plan or wait for your next period.
What counts as a check, including errors?
After a request passes validation and successfully takes 1 check from your quota, that check is used. All decisions and rule fallback count. A later HTTP 503 does not automatically return it.
What happens when I cancel?
Cancel through your Creem customer portal. Access usually continues until the end of the current paid period. Paused or expired subscriptions, full refunds and disputes can end paid access.
Frequently asked questions
A few things
before you start.
Clear answers about detection, visitor experience, and billing.
More in the documentation →Does this replace bot protection?
Message classification complements bot protection. Use server-side validation, rate limits, and other controls appropriate to your site. A browser script can be bypassed.
How fast is it?
Response time includes network and provider processing and varies by request. Model inference time is not end-to-end API latency. The optional browser helper lets the form continue if a check fails or times out; other validation and mail delivery remain separate.
Will it block real customers?
False positives are possible. JevShield returns allow, review, or block. The WordPress plugin allows uncertain results, which you can filter as “Uncertain — review” in Dashboard → Detection logs. These are check records, not a quarantine inbox. Start with the latest plugin’s Observe only setting to assess your own submissions before enabling blocking. Custom API integrations must implement their own enforcement policy.
Do I need to remove my CAPTCHA?
No. Keep Turnstile or reCAPTCHA as your bot layer — JevShield adds the semantic layer they lack, judging message intent instead of browser behavior. The two complement each other.
What if the provider is unavailable?
The authenticated API falls back to local rules and reports its engine. The public AI demo instead asks you to retry. The optional browser script lets the form continue if a check fails or times out. Rules and AI can both make mistakes.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, use Account & billing to open the Creem customer portal. Cancellation normally keeps access until the end of the paid billing period.
